This February, Shai Hulud Will Reach Beyond the Sun

Break out the confetti and champagne — after more than four years, we’re finally getting a new Shai Hulud album in 2013! Metal Blade will release Reach Beyond the Sun (an appropriately sci-fi sounding title for a band whose name is a reference to Dune) on February 19, and you can watch a teaser featuring some new music below. It sounds to me like it’s going to be totally epic and worth the long wait, although I guess I should keep it in my pants until I actually hear the damn thing.

As splooged about reported, the album was produced and features vocals by original Shai Hulud vocalist/current New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert. While he’s not rejoining the band full-time (there’s still no word on the identity of their new vocalist), he did play some shows with them earlier this year; you can watch a video of one of those shows here.
