Sevendust Name New Album After the Song That Made Us Cry

Sevendust have set Black Out the Sun as the title of their new album. You may recall that the band previously posted a very brief preview of a song we believe is or was called “Blackout,” about Clint Lowery’s father passing away; the chorus for that track asks, “Why did you black out the sun?”, which is about as apt  a poetic description of grief as you’re gonna get. The song is so moving that it made Vince, Joey Belladonna, and myself teary… so finally, Joey and ourselves agree on something!

The album is tentatively scheduled for an April release date. Based on what we heard when we visited the band in the studio, I think they knocked the ball out of the park on this one. Fingers crossed…
