THERE MIGHT BE SOME NEW DIO SONGS
This photo has nothing to do with the story, I just thought it was hilarious.
Ronnie James Dio is dead… but not gone. Even though his last recorded song, “Electra,” was released posthumously in 2010 as part of the Dio boxset Tournado, that band’s drummer, Simon Wright, has revealed in a new interview that the great RJD left behind some demos which could, maybe maybe maybe, fingers crossed, be completed for a public release:
“There were three or four songs he had been working on. I’m not sure what will happen. At some point, maybe, they’ll come out. You would have to be careful how you approached it – you wouldn’t want to overstep your bounds. We’d sit and listen to them and see how far he got. We’d do it with total respect and we’d do it delicately.”
I totally agree with Wright’s point about being respectful — but I’m sure I’m not the only Dio fan who’d love to hear these, even if his vocals will never be 100% completed. Worst case scenario is we get some interesting curosities by which to remember the man; best case scenario is Dio continues to kick the ass of most modern metal vocalists… from the beyond!!!
