INADVERTENTLY HILARIOUS VIDEO OF THE DAY: CRAZY OLD MAN INTERVIEWS A LIFE ONCE LOST’S DOUG SABOLICK
I was scouring YouTube last night looking for the really cool fan-filmed A Life Once Lost live video I saw once, and while I am bummed to report that I couldn’t find it, I am elated to report that I found something, much, much better: an interview with ALOL guitarist Doug Sabolick on The Fred Mlynarski Show. Which, of course, begs the question, “Who the fucking fuck is Fred Mlynarski?”
I honestly don’t know the answer! He seems so zonked and weird that I honestly thought at first that he was an actor the band had hired to make some dryly humorous viral video, but no — he has a bunch of episodes of his “talk show” online, and he seems just as weird in those interviews, too. A Google search doesn’t provide any additional info. That’s pretty much all the investigative journalism I’m willing to do on this subject…
…but it doesn’t really matter because this interview is just SO GREAT. You really only need to watch it for a few seconds to see that this is something seriously whacked about this dude, but the video only gets funnier as it progresses. Highlights include:
- Sabolick having to give Mlynarski a hint as to his band’s name
- Mlynarski’s visual example of his interpretation of the title of the band’s new album, Ecstatic Trance
- Sabolick looking as though he wants to kill himself while Mlynarski takes a stroll down memory lane re: his own musical history
- Pretty much anytime Mlynarski looks into the camera
Seriously take some time to watch this, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Ecstatic Trance comes out October 22 on Season of Mist.
