HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS ARE “KEEPING IT TOGETHER”
How to Destroy Angels, which is basically Nine Inch Nails with Trent Reznor’s wife handling vocals, have released a new song, “Keeping it Together,” and it’s… okay I guess?
Thing is, I’m an unabashed Trent Reznor fanboy, and there are definitely a lot of Reznor hallmarks here — including some vocals from the man himself, which I don’t recall being a feature of the group’s self-titled debut EP. It’s just that the song doesn’t really feel like it goes anywhere; I kept expecting it to “take off,” so to speak, but it never does. It might too mellow for its own good; granted, nothing HTDA have released thus far has been “heavy,” but songs like “The Space in Between” and “A Drowning” still has clear hooks and structure, which, I’d argue, this track lacks.
Check out “Keeping it Together” for yourself below. It will appear on How to Destroy Angels’ upcoming An Omen EP, which comes out November 13 on Columbia.
