“BALTIMORE STRANGLER”: PIG DESTROYER WANNA HOLD YOU LIKE AN ANACONDA
Pig Destroyer are now streaming another new song from their forthcoming Book Burner: it’s called “Baltimore Strangler,” and no, it is not about how being stuck in Baltimore makes you wanna strangle someone.
In fact, the song seems like both a direct response to and a trolling of people who find Pig Destroyer’s lyrics offensive: sure, J.R. Hayes screams “They say I hate women, they couldn’t be more wrong,” but he also says “She’s got a neck built for my hands” and “I just wanted to hold her like an anaconda.” Which obviously gives the whole “I love women” thing a depraved and darkly humorous double-meaning.
Stream the song here — even if you could give a shit about the lyrics, the music is incredible, too. Pig Destroyer’s Book Burner comes out October 22 on Relapse; pre-order it here. Here’s a link to my review for the three of you who still haven’t read it and then asked me what Scott Hull’s dick tastes like (the answer is bacon, duh). The band will headline the third annual MetalSucks/Metal Injection/1000 Knives CMJ showcase on October 18, with support coming from KEN Mode, Early Graves, and Encrust; and tickets are on sale at this link.
