THE 69 EYES: “BORDERLINE” METAL, IN A GOOD WAY
I’m not sure how The 69 Eyes slipped under my radar all these years because they’ve definitely been doing their thing for, like, forever. Sure, it’d be a stretch to call them “metal” — just going with “dark rock” is a better bet — but they offer nice break from our usual daily dose of Br00tal-O’s here at MetalSucks.
So, first we have a music video for the track “Red” they released a couple of weeks ago. The video is mostly your typical band-playing-their-song-somewhere-and-looking-all-dramatic kind of clip, but you should at least watch it for the old and creepy but kinda weirdly sexy broad who introduces the video. Definitely would! Then stick around and listen to the song:
The 69 Eyes also have another new track called “Borderline.” This one is barely even rock; it’s like a Johnny Cash tune as sung by Peter Steele. But it’s pretty cool, and I’m diggin’ it; like I said, a nice break from our usual fare. Stream “Borderline” at The 69 Eyes / Nuclear Blast webstore, where you’ll have to hover over the 7th little bubble at the top of the page and click “play” (really annoying, I know).
Both songs come from The 69 Eyes’ 10th studio album X out October 9th on Nuclear Blast Records.
