UNSIGNED AND UNHOLY: SECTU, EXISTEM AND SIGNO ROJO
All three of today’s featured Unsigned and Unholy deserve to be signed. Such is the case for so many demos we receive, but the sad reality of the situation is that getting signed often comes down to being in the right place at the right time. Check it out Sectu, Existem and Signo Rojo below:
- Sectu: In a musical landscape where Morbid Angel, Gojira and Behemoth collide, Swedish death pummelers Sectu steadfastly reside. Really digging track four, “Havoc.” Stream newest album Gerra below via Bandcamp:
- Existem: Kansas City progressive metallers Existem immediately call to mind the melodic structure and songwriting approach of both Textures and The Ocean — which is cool on its own — but there’s a lot more going on here. The vocals are a nice breath of fresh air, and I hear influences as deep and disparate as Opeth and Scale the Summit. Stream Years of Winter below via Bandcamp:
- Signo Rojo: Swedish “sludge-punkers” Signo Rojo have recently released a live record for free download on Bandcamp containing mostly new material from their upcoming full-length album. Signo Rojo aren’t afraid to play their metal slowly, and this recording sounds excellent considering it was tracked live. Imagine Iron Thrones, but played much more slowly.
