Rolling Drone recently held a readers’ poll on the ten greatest metal albums of all time; the resulting list consists of four of the first five Metallica albums, the first two Sabbath albums, Slayer’s Reign in Blood, Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction, and Led Zeppelin II. Which makes perfect sense, and seems like a pretty good demonstration of why you should never ask the readers of a magazine that’s had Justin Bieber on the cover what they think about metal. “Honey, I just voted for The Black Album to be one of the greatest metal albums of all time!” you can practically hear some douche calling from the living room. “What time is it? Is The Voice on yet? Last week was so exciting! Xtina really looks like she’s really lost weight.”
