NEW ALBUM STREAMS 4 U: GALLOWS, CASPIAN AND SATAN’S WRATH
Ladies and gentlemen… THIS GUY! Vest Metal posterboy.
Hey, there’s lots of new music! So quite wasting time and get to listenin’:
I really dig Gallows — like Cancer Bats, they’re a little more hardcore than metal — the ethos of the former with the production of the latter and the harmonic structure of both. Whatever it is, man, this shit RIPS — it’s a nasty, gnarly, tangled mess of riffs and fury. Stream the new album at NME right now; Cross of Lorraine came out last week. Shop here.
Atmospheric post-rockers Caspian are back with Waking Season, now streamable in full at Spin. Caspian occupy that mostly instrumental rock/metal middle-ground well-trafficked by Junius, And So I Watch You From Afar, Constants, If These Treeks Could Talk, etc. Fans of Isis could even get into this.
If you were confused by my post about Vest Metal you should probably just listen to the new Satan’s Wrath album in full over at Terrorizer. All the Vest Metal check marks are firmly in place: satanic imagery/themes (check! bonus points for “satan” in the band name), retro-metal influences proudly worn on sleeve (check!), lulzy press quote (“Satan’s Wrath is in direct communication with thy Master through ceremonial black magic and necromantic rituals.”), too cvlt to use social networks (check!). That said, this shit rips; go on over to Terrorizer to stream Galloping Blasphemy in full and pre-order it here.
