LISTENING TO EARLY GRAVES IS NOT “PURE HELL”

If you’re ready for some filthy grindy goodness, head over to NPR, where they’re streaming “Pure Hell,” a new track from awesome band/Robocop connoisseurs Early Graves.

There is nothing about this song I don’t love, but without a doubt, the moment I was 110% sold on the track was when the guitar solo kicked in; it’s just so fucking sloppy – and I mean that as a compliment. Pulling off a solo that a) sounds chaotic but b) still has structure is not the easiest thing in the world to do, but it has certainly been achieved here. And it’s immediately followed by, if not quite an elephants marching riff, then certainly an elephants galloping riff, which, if you know me but at all, you already know is like icing on the delicious cake for me.
