THIS EARLY 90s DOCUMENTARY ON GRINDCORE IS INCREDIBLE
Major props to Metal Injection for digging up this old, totally rad eighty-five minute documentary on grindcore. In addition to the hilarity of its early 90s production values, it’s actually really educational; it makes a perfect cinematic companion to Albert Mudrian’s Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal and Grindcore, which I’m going to assume you’ve all read but if you haven’t shame on you.
ANYWAY, the video features vintage interviews with Napalm Death (and HOLY SHIT BARNEY GREENWAY’S HAIR), Morbid Angel, Carcass, Godflesh, Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Paradise Lost, and Earache Records’ Digby Pearson, at a time when Earache was one of the premiere labels for extreme music. Definitely take some time out of your day and watch this.
