NEW HULUD!

TERRIFIC NEWS! We can now add Shai Hulud to the ever-growing list of cool bands that are finally releasing new material after what feels like forever.

The band has completed production on the album, the title of which has yet to be revealed. Perhaps just as exciting is the news that original Shai Hulud vocalist/current New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert produced and provided vocals for the album (see above photo of Gilbert in the studio with SH guitarist/general mastermind Matt Fox) — although while he will be performing with the band at a few upcoming gigs, he’s not re-joining them full-time, and the band’s “permanent vocalist search continues,” according to a press release.

Annnnnddddd… that’s really all we know right now. The new album will be coming out next year via Metal Blade, and I’m beyond excited to hear it — by that point, it will have been five years since the band’s last release, Misanthropy Pure, which is too long if you ask me! More news as it becomes available. In the meantime, here are the dates for those upcoming performances with Gilbert:

09/16 Miami, FL Reel & Restless Fest
10/13 New York, NY Irving Plaza
10/14 TBA
