GET DRAGGED INTO ABSU’S “HALL OF THE MASTERS”

Absu have premiered a new video  for the song “Hall of the Masters” from the Adult Swim Singles Program

and it’s… interesting. It’s clearly pretty ambitious, and I appreciate that, but there’s a very odd disconnect between the visuals — specifically, the way they’re edited — and the song. I know I’ve said this like a thousand times before, but it bears repeating: in a good music video, the visual and the song should ultimately compliment one another, and that being the case, I’m not sure why you would ever squander an opportunity to do a little rhythmic editing in your video.

That being said, Absu are swell and any video that ends with a little girl being devoured by an Asian Lady Snake Monster can’t be all bad.
