UNSIGNED AND UNHOLY: DALLA NEBBIA, KALOPSIA, OMNISIGHT

The excellent unsigned talent keeps streaming into the MS inbox. Thanks for sending it all! This week we look at Dalla Nebbia, Kalopsia and Omnisight, three of the best to hit lately.

• Dalla Nebbia: Black-ish metal that doesn’t conform to any cliches of a super-cliched genre? Yes please! This is really good stuff. Stream Thy Pale Form… below via Bandcamp.

• Kalopsia: A little bit o’ Cannibal Corpse, a little bit o’ Skeletonwitch, a little bit o’ Misery Index … a whole lotta pure metal.

• Omnisight: Comparisons to Tool and pretty much any other “alternative” band in the ’90s that was heavy and also kinda proggy (Soundgarden, etc) are certainly apt, but the band I hear most in Omnisight is Iris Divine, a fellow unsigned act we’ve featured many times on MetalSucks in the past. This is nothing you’ve never heard before, but it’s well-executed proggy alt-metal with memorable songs. The vocals are a weak spot. Stand-out tracks: “Tell Me” and “No Atrophy.”
