Let’s celebrate your excellence with a sneak peek at next week’s awesome STCOT; to u I present “The Storm” by Wodensthrone from their killer sophomore record Curse (out Tuesday duh). It’s incredible black metal: generic but expert, bereft of pretense or foofiness and loaded with passion and force, massively catchy and deeply affecting. Over the last couple days, I cranked Curse until being forbidden to continue; I then cranked Immortal’s All Shall Fall and Kampfar’s 2011 underdog classic Mare — each a cousin to Curse‘s blackly bloody sprawl.
