BITTERSWEET NEWS OF THE THE DAY: THE TONY DANZA TAPDANCE EXTRAVAGANZA ANNOUNCES FINAL ALBUM
So the good news is, Black Market Activities has announced an October 23 release date for The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza’s latest, Danza IIII: The Alpha – The Omega, and have also debuted a totally awesome new song, entitled “You Won’t,” on the band’s Indie Merch page, where you can also pre-order the album in a variety of packages. (And by the way, that not supposed to be a “IV” in the title — the press release announcing the album specifies “think tally marks, not Roman numerals.”)
The bad news is, this is going to be TTDTDE’s final album.
Apparently, vocalist Jessie Freeland and guitarist Josh Travis are the only members in the band at this point, and Travis is “now a full-time member of Glass Cloud with former Of Mice & Men frontman Jerry Roush,” which I guess explains the decision to call it a day. And I’ll be glad if the band goes out on a high note, and I am glad that we’re gonna get to say a proper goodbye. Still, it’s not like the metal world needs one less good band, y’know?
Headbang here, then cry tears that both happy and sad in the comments section below. Danza IIII will include guest vocal appearances by Whitechapel’s Phil Bozeman and Obey the Brave/Despised Icon’s Alex Erian, was engineered and mixed by Nicholas Scott, and features album art by Michael J. Windsor, “known for his work with The Red Chord and Pig Destroyer, and for his book covers for bestsellers like The Da Vinci Code and Darkly Dreaming Dexter.”
