BARONESS MEMBERS RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL, ALL 2012 TOUR DATES CANCELED

Following their bus crash in the U.K. two weeks ago and the subsequent report of the details of their injuries, we were heartened to learn last week that the members of Baroness were in good spirits and on their way to recovery. Today’s Facebook update from the band brings more encouraging news, namely that the three most seriously injured band members — John Baizley, Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni — have been released from the hospital:

John Baizley has been released from hospital. Allen and Matt have arrived back in the United States.

All remaining 2012 tour dates are canceled.

Thank you for all of the continued support.

Presumably Baizley is on his way back to the U.S. as well, or will return home very soon.

While it sucks that Baroness have to cancel all of their touring plans for 2012 — which no doubt will cost them a lot of money, both in what’s already been spent and in lost revenue — what’s important is that they have their health and are still alive. We wish them a speedy recovery and hope they can get back out on the road in early 2013 to give Baroness fans everywhere the rocking we so badly need.
