DEE SNIDER IS NOT GONNA TAKE IT (FROM PAUL RYAN)
Boy oh boy. Despite what our own Dummy Nosenothing thinks, it seems like Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan is going out of his way to catch flack from prominent members of the hard rock and heavy metal community. First he gets bitch-slapped in an op-ed by Tom Morello after claiming to be a Rage Against the Machine fan; now Dee Snider has released a statement to Talking Points Memo in which he castigates Ryan for using Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” as his intro music at a rally in Pennsylvania yesterday:
“I emphatically denounce Paul Ryan’s use of my band Twisted Sister’s song, ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It,’ in any capacity. There is almost nothing he stands for that I agree with except the use of the P90X.”
It’s important to note that much as Phil Labonte isn’t necessarily supporting Republicans when he speaks out against Democrats, Snider’s droll statement doesn’t actually endorse any political party. I mean, Snider is a Jew from Astoria who wears make-up and pink shoulder pads for a living, so I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess he’s a liberal. I’m just saying it’s possible he simply doesn’t want his music associated with politics altogether. After all, Tipper Gore is a Democrat!
