MUSE PREACH PEAK OIL AWARENESS IN NEW DUBSTEP TRACK “UNSUSTAINABLE”
When we posted about the new Muse single in late June, just as many of you claimed that Muse are totally relevant to fans of metal/prog as decried us for posting about a band that has nothing to do with metal. Shocker of all shockers: I guess Muse are pretty controversial ’round these parts.
I expect the debate will only intensify over their second single, “The 2nd Law: Unsustainable.” Not only is it basically a dubstep track which should draw ire in and of itself, but the subject matter happens to be peak oil, a cold, hard fact most Americans instinctively reject on the grounds that it threatens pretty much everything about their everyday existence. This should be interesting.
