NEW CAR BOMB SINGLE FEATURING GOJIRA’S JOE DUPLANTIER

Dunno about you, but I performed a minor head-scratch when I saw that Car Bomb would be opening for Gojira on a couple of their recently announced headline dates. Then I realized that while I was on vacation I’d missed the incredible news that Joe Duplantier would be lending his vocals to a new Car Bomb track, and suddenly it made a lot more sense that Gojira would tap a band without an album in the past five years for a string of dates. I mean, win/win either way — Car Bomb are great. They played our CMJ Music Marathon showcase in 2010 and fucking ROCKED IT.

Today we get to hear the new track, “Third Revelation,” from Car Bomb’s forthcoming album w^w^^w^w (not sure if troll or that’s really its name), out September 25th. Joejira’s trademark howl is unmistakable, but I think the song itself sounds kinda Gojira-y, vocals aside; maybe that’s why they asked Joe to lend his voice to this particular track. It’s distinctively Car Bomb too, with skronks, wonks, and other off-kilter -onks aplenty. Also, holy shit, that album cover… my head is spinning.

In other news… GOJIRA (and Car Bomb!) IN TWO DAYS!! HOLY SHIT!!
