MACHINE HEAD’S “DARKNESS WITHIN” VIDEO IS NOT ABOUT RANDY BLYTHE
Machine Head’s new video, for the track “Darkness Within,” takes place in Prague, and deals with themes like death and punishment and beatings… but the whole thing was conceived and filmed long before Randy Blythe’s arrest (it’s not likely that a video of this size could have been together so quickly). The song was already good and I imagine that the video would have been effective even in some terrific alternate universe where Blythe is a free man about to go on tour with Dethklok and Gojira. But it’s hard to watch the clip and not think about Blythe.
“Darkness Within” appears on Machine Head’s current release, Unto the Locust, which apparently may be their final release for Roadrunner.
