IN THIS MOMENT PERFORM ACOUSTIC RENDITION OF “BLAH” FOR HOUSEWIVES OF WYOMING
In This Moment recently performed an acoustic version of my new favorite ITM jam, “Blood,” on Good Morning Wyoming, because if there’s one thing that metal fans love, it’s acoustic music, and if there’s one show that metal fans absolutely never miss, it’s Good Morning Wyoming. Clearly, In This Moment’s new record is going to be the watercooler album amongst high school prom queens who took a seriously wrong turn somewhere in their lives. Assuming those high school prom queens don’t mind a band that dresses like they work at Chuck E. Cheese’s annual haunted house, Chuck EEEEEE! Cheese.
All kidding aside, I still like this song, and the acoustic version actually works well, and I have to hand it Maria Brink — she can actually sing, which is more than I can say for 99.9% of all other modern metal vocalists who try to pull off clean vox. I mean, sure, it does sound an awful lot like she’s saying “blah blah blah” instead of “blood blood blood,” but I mean come on she’s Maria Brink not Janis Joplin, cut her some slack.
In This Moment’s new album, which is also called Blood, comes out August 14 on Century Media.
