EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: SOPHICIDE’S “DAWN OF A NEW AGE”
Adam Laszlo, the sole enfant terrible behind Sophicide, explains that the project’s name means “anti-intellectualism” — that it’s a reference to the fact that “people are stupid, ignorant and seem to be proud of it.” Sophicide’s debut full-length, Perdition of the Sublime, fights against this trend by presenting mind-tickling puzzle of a techdeath album that challenges and awes, even as it never abandons songcraft for showmanship. If Perdition is any indication, it won’t be too long before Sophicide are mentioned in the reverential tones usually reserved for bands like Spawn of Possession and Gorod.
MetalSucks is proud to debut “Dawn of a New Age” from Perdition of the Sublime below. Take a listen and hear the future of techmetal for yourself!
Perdition of the Sublime comes out August 14 on Willowtip Records.Pre-order it here.
