LIKE WE DIDN’T SEE THIS COMING

Sometimes news is really surprising, and sometimes it’s this: after announcing earlier this month that vocalist Krysta Cameron is pregnant and is therefore not performing with Iwrestledabearonce on Warped Tour this summer, bassist Mike “Ricky” Martin now tells Property of Zack that “she’s permanently gone.” Drummer Mike Montgomery adds “Fingers crossed [she comes back] though,” so there’s hope for the three fans who didn’t immediately assume Cameron was leaving the band as soon as word of her pregnancy got out.

Meanwhile, Courtney LaPlante has been filling-in for Cameron on Warped, so I have to assume that she’s the frontrunner to replace the diminutive singer. In case you’re curious, here’s footage of LaPlante doing “Tastes Like Kevin Bacon” with the band last week. She doesn’t quite seem to have Cameron’s energy, although I’ll reserve final judgment for when/if I see her live-live, not YouTube-live:
