The Acacia Strain have announced that their new album is going to be called Death is the Only Mortal, which makes so little sense you’d think Dave Mustaine came up with it. That being said — and here’s one of the many big differences between The Acacia Strain and a lot of their peers (cough Emmure cough cough) — I think it’s safe to assume that The Acacia Strain are in on the joke, and not, y’know, a bunch of downie babies. I base this assumption on the band photo which accompanied the press release announcing the album’s title:

Man, I hope that was taken at like a Target or something. I’d love to see the look on the face of the “photographer” working that day when these dudes walked in.

Death is the Only Mortal comes out October 9 on Rise Records.
