WATCH PERIPHERY’S MATT HALPERN JAM ON SOME SH*T
One of the drummers we catch the most flak for not including on our list of The Top 25 Metal Drummers is Periphery’s Matt Halpern, and it’s not hard to understand why . At the time we made the list, he had only appeared on one album, but clearly, the dude can play his off. I’m not necessarily saying we would have included him if Periphery II had already been released when we put the list together, because I don’t have a crystal ball that allows me to see into alternate timelines or whatever, I’m just saying… well. Y’know. Fucker is GOOD, and I get why people are cranky about his exclusion.
Now he’s posted a video of himself jamming on some “improvised grooves,” which you can check out below. In case you’re one of the three people who hasn’t yelled at us about leaving him the list.
