THE HOFFMAN BROTHERS WANT YOU TO KNOW THEY USED TO BE IN DEICIDE
Before Deicide came up with the totally awesome name “Deicide,” they were called Amon. So guess what founding Deicide guitarists Brian and Eric Hoffman, who acrimoniously split from the band in 2004, have decided to call their new project? That’s right — AMON! What a clever way of marketing to the three people who know that little factoid and/or the six people who may accidentally purchase this instead of a certain viking band with a similar moniker.
ANYWAY, Amon have released their first video, for a song called “Among Us,” which you can watch below. At the song’s best, it’s pretty okay, and it’s worst, it’s generic but inoffensive; as Heavy Blog is Heavy puts it, ” there’s really not much to hate here.” But I still prefer either the vintage OR the current version of Deicide to this. Yourselves?
