PIG DESTROYER ENTER THE STUDIO

So says a press release I just received from Relapse Records, the band’s label. Then I burst out laughing for about five minutes, because for some stupid reason, I was acting under the impression that the band had already been in the studio. It wasn’t happy laughter, mind you; it was the laughter of a man losing his mind.

At this point, the only thing preventing me from giving myself over to men in white coats is that the press release also says that “A late 2012 release is expected” for the album (as does the band’s Facebook page, from which the above photo originates), and announces that the band will play the UK’s Damnation Festival on November 3, along with Electric Wizard, My Dying Bride, Textures, and some other rad bands. It will be PxDx’s first UK show in eight years, which is great news for UK fans, and presumably it means the band plans to have the new album done by November, which is great new for all of us.

But yeah if January 2013 comes around and there’s still no new Pig Destroyer album I’m going to tie a brick to my leg and jump into the Hudson River. No pressure dudes.
