NEW NACHTMYSTIUM SONG “DECIMATES” AND “ANNIHILATES” YOUR EARDRUMS

Adding keyboard player Sanford Parker as a full-time member of Nachtmystium might be the single best decision Blake Judd has made in years.

Take “Decimation, Annihilation,” the latest song to be released from Nachtmystium’s new album Silencing Machine. It’s a churning, gnarly, groovy black metal song of its own accord, vintage Nachtmystium. But with Parker’s keyboard flourishes this song takes on a whole new life, from the subtle, bubbling atmospherics in the verses to the sharp, jarring accents in the bridge. Parker’s input made the band’s last album Addicts: Black Meddle Part 2 special, and having heard Silencing Machine in full, I’m happy to report that it’s got more of the same. Typical black metal keyboards these are not.
