AGALLOCH HEAR FAUSTIAN ECHOES (AND YOU CAN, TOO)
When Agalloch recently announced the impending release of a new EP, Faustian Echoes, they didn’t mention that it was really just one single song. Of course, “just” one single song, in this case, is a TWENTY-ONE MINUTE SONG, making this EP longer than most grind full-lengths, and almost the length of Slayer’s Reign in Blood and The Faceless’ Planetary Duality. So you can’t really complain about the length.
Especially after hearing the song! I mean, as of this writing, I’m only about one-third of the way through the track, but so far, it’s all Agallochian goodness. I’m especially digging the drums by Aesop Dekker, who, as we all know, is the eighteenth best drummer in modern metal. Killer, killer work, man.
Stream Faustian Echoes in full below. I’ll be really curious to see if the band plays the entire thing on their upcoming headlining tour.
