TOO SOON? SAMMY’S BEST OF 2012 … SO FAR!
Here’s how I measure the metal awesomeness of 2012: I love the new Six Feet Under album. That’s right, a band once the epitome of overrated death metal has put out one of this half year’s best records. Granted, Undead features the triumphant return of Kevin Talley to death metal and was written with Rob Arnold, so it could be argued that the album is just a really heavy Chimaira record– but it’s still impressive. Here are 2012’s other most impressive metal albums (in no particular order):
- Goatwhore Blood for the Master (Metal Blade)
- Cannibal Corpse Torture (Metal Blade)
- Napalm Death Utilitarian (Century Media)
- Baroness Yellow & Green (Relapse)
- Six Feet Under Undead (Metal Blade)
- High On Fire De Vermis Mysteriis (eOne)
- Aura Noir Out to Die (Indie Recordings)
- Wizard Rifle Speak Loud Say Nothing (Seventh Rule)
- Cattle Decapitation Monolith of Inhumanity (Metal Blade)
- Ihsahn Eremita (Candlelight)
