CHIMP SPANNER RELEASES PLAYTHROUGH VIDEO, GETS VERY EXCITEBIKE ABOUT U.S. TOUR

What does Chimp Spanner have in common with The Contortionist, Jeff Loomis and 7 Horns 7 Eyes besides being totally awesome? Participating in the MetalSucks-sponsored Intrinsic 2012 North American Tour, of course!

Since Mr. Spanner (aka Paul Ortiz) is from the U.K., it’s possible a lot of North Americans aren’t hip to his shreddy ways yet (even though, ya know, the Internet). To bring us ‘Mericans and ‘Nadians up to speed he’s published a little playthrough video of the song “Mobius Part 3” together with a little intro explaining his excitement for the tour. Turns out Ortiz won’t be bringing the rest of the usual Chimp Spanner lineup with him on this tour. That in and of itself isn’t too surprising seeing as how expensive it is to travel abroad, rent gear, obtain work visas, etc, but this is: his live band will consist of Jeff Loomis touring band members Gregory Macklin (also of System Divide and Ordinance) on bass and Anup Sastry (also of Intervals, Skyharbor) on drums. Double duty for those guys; way to step up!
