KIRK HAMMETT HIRED SOMEONE TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS OF STUFF HE OWNS SO HE COULD SELL YOU A BOOK
Kirk Hammett has more money than you do, and one of the many benefits of having more money than you do is that he can afford to buy pretty much whatever he wants whenever he wants. Consequently, he has apparently amassed a large and amazing collection of memorabilia from horror movies. And now he’d like to share pictures that someone else took of that memorabilia with you, assuming you’re willing to pay for the photos, of course. So in October, he’ll be releasing a book called Too Much Horror Business – The Kirk Hammett Collection, I guess because Kirk Hammett – Pictures of My Stuff was a little too on the nose.
Here’s a description of the book from its official Facebook page:
“Documenting Kirk’s love of all things horror, and the legendary collection of horror memorabilia he has amassed over the years, TMHB is a stunning 228 page, hardback, large format coffee table book featuring well over 300 full color images from Kirk’s private collection and exclusive set photography by Mark Leialoha and Joe Gibbs. There will be three extensive conversations with writer Steffan Chirazi covering the importance of collecting in Hammett’s life from childhood, plus written captions by Kirk for many of the items displayed in the book.”
Written captions by Kirk himself! Why, it will be almost like he’s in the room with me, making me watch a slide show of his trip to Orlando!!!
But wait! There’s more! Kirk is also launching his own toy line, Kirk Von Hammett Toys. You can tell it’s fun because he added a “Von” to his name, see? Also because of this picture from the company’s website:
Interestingly enough, the section of the KVH site marked “Toy Store” currently sells… t-shirts. Proving my longstanding theory: Kirk Hammett does not know what words mean.
If you’re going to the Metallica Orion Fest thinger this weekend, there’s gonna be something called “Kirk’s Crypt,” which will display some of his horror memorabilia. It’ll be just like show and tell!
