Let’s talk about “Innocence,” the new video from Beggars & Thieves. You’ll probably know you’re in trouble from the moment the clip begins, with a “profound” voice over about whatever the fuck. Then you’ll begin to wonder when Tom Cochrane started a cock rock band. Then you’ll hear the lyric “I was ready to take you home/ I was ready to make you real in the eyes of God,” which makes no fucking sense — I mean, I think the dude is trying to talk about getting married, but I have never heard “make you real in the eyes of God” used as an expression for marriage, so instead it just sounds like he’s singing about the movie Weird Science or something. At some point, you may begin to wonder why the director was so subtle about his decision to frame out the women’s faces in favor of close-ups of their tits.

By the time the video has mysteriously turned into a beer commercial despite the fact that nothing in the song has anything to do with chicks riding in the back of a truck chuggin’ brewskis, you may have already gone retarded.
