BREAKING: WREST ARRESTED FOR BIGAMY?

Update, 1:37 pm: A source close to Whitehead assures that he was not arrested on any new charges, but, rather, is being detained until sentencing for his previous charges. Furthermore, we’re told that all of those charges save for that of domestic battery have been dropped. We’re not sure where this bigamy charge is coming from, but hopefully an answer will present itself. Original story follows. 

Is Jef Whitehead, better known to the metal world as “Wrest,” in trouble with the law again?

An anonymous tipster directed MetalSucks to Jailbase.com, which lists Whitehead as being arrested for on May 23 of this year for Criminal Code of 1961: 720 ILCS 5/12-3.3(a), which is apparently related to… bigamy. Seriously. Bigamy. Holy shit.

While the mugshot shows a much more clean-cut Wrest than we’re used to, the tattoos on the neck leave little doubt that this is indeed the Leviathan mastermind.

You may recall that Whitehead was previously arrested and charged with sexual abuse and domestic battery in 2011, after his then-girlfriend alleged that the musician — who is also a famed tattoo artist — used tattoo tools  as part of a sexual assault.
