EVERYONE CAN RELAX, THE NEW VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE! SONG IS HERE
I’m reasonably certain I’ve fucked the one in blue.
Nothing insanely horrific has happened to me in a few months, but luckily, Vampires Eveywhere! have gone ahead and released a new song, so, y’know, fuck you, sunshine and chirpy birds and reasons for living. The tune is called “Drug of Choice,” and I know to look at the band you’d guess “Estrogen supplements?”, but that’s actually not what the song is about according to lead vocalist Michael Vampire:
“The world is filled with social climbing whores that only want to use you for your fame & money. I thought it was quite appropriate to write a song based around this issue because I deal with it everyday living in Hollywood, CA. However, I was dead set on using the social climber’s perspective of the situation. I wanted to reverse what I usually see in the clubs & make it about the accused. What is this person going through? How does this person feel? Does this person ever get revenge on those that treat her/him like shit? Most people never stop and think about the other person’s feelings… haha, I never do!!! However, this song is about a girl’s struggle to get attention in a world that doesn’t care.”
So, to review: this guy is narcissistic enough that he has nothing greater on his mind than the groupies that try to bang him because he’s famous, but he wants to make it clear that he really feels for those “whores.” Uh, what? Is there lead in that make-up?
Listen at Bloody Disgusting if you hate yourself and/or anyone within reasonable distance of your speakers. Vampires Everywhere!’s new album, Hellbound and Heartless, comes out Blowme Blowmeteenth on No Really Blow Me Records.
