“LOSING MY MIND”: I DON’T THINK I’M GOING TO LIKE THE NEW FIREWIND ALBUM

“Losing My Mind,” which is now streaming at The Deciblog, is the second song I’ve heard from Firewind’s new album, Few Against Many. And like the first, “Wall of Sound,” I find it underwhelming. I mean, it’s not terrible or anything. It just doesn’t make me sexually aroused the way Firewind have in the past. Unsurprisingly, Gus G.’s solo is the best part of the song. But since Gus G. presumably wrote the whole damn thing, it would have been nice if he could have made the whole thing just as sweet.

Of course, two songs still isn’t really enough to judge an entire album. But if these tracks are the band putting their best foot forward, well… I’m prepapred to be disappointed.
