WATAIN MADE A (VERY EVIL LOOKING) DVD
Yesterday, The Deciblog debuted the below trailer for Watain’s upcoming DVD, Opus Diaboli, which is being released to celebrate the band’s thirteenth anniversary — I guess ’cause thirteen is a more evil number than fifteen or whatever, and if the band waited for their sixth-hundred-and-sixty-sixth anniversary in 2665, they’d never see any royalty checks from the thing.
ANYWAY, the DVD looks appropriately brutal, beautiful, and spooky for the band. The package comes with “A four-panel digipack including the DVD, two audio CDs featuring the full concert plus a 16-page booklet with historical photos and flyers.” (What, no pig parts?) There’s also a limited edition box set version that also came with “an exclusive 64-page booklet with historical photos and flyers,” but apparently it’s sold out already… sheesh. Pre-orders for the regular version start June 5.
Here’s the trailer:
Watain are currently part of The Decibel Magazine tour along with Behemoth, The Devil’s Blood, and In Solitude; you can get remaining dates and tickets here. I don’t really know why anyone would be on the fence about attending such an incredible show, but if you are, hopefully our own Anso DF’s recent review will persuade you that it’s worth the ticket price.
