Here’s some shiz that happened this week in the wonderful world o’ metal:
- We lost the Beastie Boys Adam Yauch (aka MCA). R.I.P.
- We streamed Cattle Decapitation’s new album in full, a brand new Julie Christmas song anda ripper from Allegaeon.
- We interviewed Six Feet Under’s Chris Barnes.
- We reviewed new albums by Janus, Taproot and Hurt all in one hard rockin’ shot and we looked at Torche’s new album Harmonicraft.
- Terror’s Scott Vogel announced that he isn’t a fan of the Refused reunion, and that inspired us to have a conversation about it.
- Metal Injection wrapped up their “On the Record” series by pondering the future of metal.
- In Slayer news: we got an update on Jeff Hanneman’s post-spider bite medical condition, we learned who will be filling in for Gary Holt in Exodus while Holt fills in for Hanneman, and we watched Kerry King create a “strong bond” with Jägermeister in a new TV commercial.
- We continued analyzing the recent Roadrunner layoffs and discovered that Baptized in Blood are no longer on the label.
- The Devil’s Blood got robbed by a bitter ex-bus driver.
- Coheed & Cambria “Used to Know” Gotye.
