DEATH METAL’S BRIGHTEST NEW BAND, RIVERS OF NIHIL, PUMMEL NYC TONIGHT!

Metal Blade’s recent signing of super-brutal death metal band Abiotic got me thinking that there’s a very bright future for Rivers of Nihil, a Reading, Pennsylvania-based band that were so fucking great when I saw them play NYC’s Lit Lounge a few months back I felt inspired to write about them. SO TIGHT. To quote my two-months-ago self, think “the best parts of Aborted, The Red Chord, Decrepit Birth, Nile and Gojira all rolled into one.”

Rivers of Nihil finally return to NYC tonight along with Kamikabe, Humanity Falls and Headsnatcher, once again at the weekly Monday night “Precious Metal” series at Lit Lounge (93 Second Ave., Manhattan), and you better believe I’ll be there with my rock socks showing despite having just gotten off a plane from an outrageous 3-night Key West bender.
