STREAM THIRTY SONGS BY GENERAL SURGERY
Decibel says that General Surgery were “the first (and best) CarcassClone,” which makes it all the more baffling to me that I never got into them. For whatever reason, I just never heard that General Surgery tune that kicked me in the nuts and made me take notice. That being said, I certainly don’t have anything against General Surgery…
…so I thought you might like to know that the aforementioned Decibel is now streaming the band’s new rarities compilation, A Collection of Depravation. Like my headline says, it’s got a whopping thirty cuts (pun intended) on it, but you’ll still probably breeze through it fairly quickly, ’cause most of the songs are under two or three minutes, tops (although, oddly enough, one of my favorite songs on the collection, “Convival Corpose Disposal Methodology,” is over six minutes, which is an eternity in grind time). And, if nothing else, the music is certainly very Carcass-esque, so, y’know, there are worse things in life.
Headbang here, then tell me I’m nuts for not loving this band in the comments section below, or give my ego a nice boost and tell me you don’t get what the dilly is either. A Collection of Depravation is out now via Relapse.
