ARE DREDG RELEASING A CATCH WITHOUT ARMS DOCUMENTARY?
A couple of weeks back Dredg announced a hometown show in which they’d play their 2005 opus Catch Without Arms in full, and we wondered “Why that album? Why now?” Well, we may’ve just gotten our answer. The PRP picked up on a 5-minute clip from a documentary about the making of Catch Without Arms, which has never been released:
Just from what we can see above, it looks fascinating — Dino and Mark live-tracking, Gavin doing his vocals outside, Dino plinking away on the piano, all in what looks to be Seattle (I’ve actually been to that park with the weird old industrial machinery in the middle of it). Nowadays clips like this would be released as “studio videos” on YouTube before the album’s release, or perhaps as a bonus DVD, so it’s cool that something like this exists and has never before been seen by fans.
The timing of the release of this clip and the show could be coincidental, but it seems unlikely… let’s hope the band plans to release the entire documentary soon. And I know beggars can’t be chosers, but wouldn’t it be nice to see the band take Catch Without Arms in full out on tour?
