UPDATE: SCION IS NOT FILMING A MESHUGGAH DVD AFTER ALL
The interhole got all hot n’ bothered last week — including yours truly — when Scion A/V announced they’d be sponsoring the upcoming Meshuggah, Baroness and Decpitated U.S. tour, and that they would have “cameras rolling and studio mics recording.” We extrapolated that tidbit and surmised that perhaps they were working on a live DVD, and while that turns out not to be the case the end products still sound like they’ll be pretty cool.
A representative from Scion A/V reached out to MetalSucks over the weekend and told us the following:
As amazing as it would be, there are currently no plans for Scion A/V to produce a live tour DVD or any live performance videos at all. What IS in the works is a limited-edition 7″ tour vinyl (which will also be available for free download on scionav.com), some behind-the-scenes backstage iPhone footage from the tour, an exclusive interview with Meshuggah, as well as a ticket giveaway.
Not quite a live DVD, but I’m particularly excited about the behind-the-scenes backstage footage… the members of Meshuggah are fairly protective and secretive, and it’ll be fun to see what goes on in their little private world.
