TEXTURES GET BUSY IN 2012
Dutch progressive metallers Textures — whose stellar new album Dualism ranked on five MetalSucks staffers “Best of 2011” lists — have been quite the busybodies lately. The group finished a marathon 5.5 week / 32 show tour of North America — their first ever — with Periphery and The Human Abstract back in October, travelling to Canada, Mexico, both coasts of the U.S. and everywhere in between. Here’s a recap video podcast they recently released featuring live footage, tour highlights, and the requisite shenanigans:
But all that travelling hasn’t slowed Textures down one bit. The band toured the U.K., released their own custom sneaker, and are about to embark upon a European tour with Sylosis before hitting the Euro festival circuit with appearances at Tuska, Vagos Open Air, Brutal Assault and more. Guitarist Bart Hennephof recently posted a 2-minute “newsflash” telling fans what the band’s been up to and what’s to come, which you can watch after the jump.
And for the music dorks amongst you: drummer Stef Broks (also of fusion supergroup Exivious) just released a drum playthrough video of “Laments of an Icarus,” from Textures’ 2008 album Silhouettes. Watch that after the break as well:

As for when Textures will return to the U.S.? Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that it’s soon.
