BETTER THAN COFFEE: START YOUR MORNING WITH ONE MINUTE OF NEW GOD FORBID MUSIC

God Forbid’s latest offering, Equilibrium, comes out March 26, which, hard to believe, is really just around the corner already. So we can expect the band’s new label, Victory, to start pumping up their promotional efforts big time in the coming weeks. Which is great news for us, ’cause it means we get to hear new God Forbid music even sooner than the end of next month!

So: the label released the below teaser for the album yesterday. It runs just over a minute and is set to a new GF song, “Cornered.” While I am selfishly bummed that it’s just a minute of new music from one of my favorite bands, that minute sounds SO GOOD. It’s catchy and heavy and there is some insane guitar shit going on under the verse (I think that might be new guitarist Matt Wicklund, but I’m honestly not sure so don’t hold me to that or anything). In case you just listened to the music in that video and didn’t also, like, read the words, God Forbid are going on tour with Overkill, Diamond Plate, and Suidakra in April; you can get dates here. The band also has two intimate club shows this month, during which, I assume, they’ll start to take the new material out for a spin. The first is tomorrow night at St. Vitus in Brooklyn; the second is on February 24 at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey. I highly recommend going if you can!
