UNSIGNED AND UNHOLY ALUMNI: 19 A.D.D., VIT, OLD WOUNDS
More great unsigned bands! Let’s listen:
- 19 A.D.D. [featured November 2010]: “Progressive metal” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Experimental fusion jazzy progsters 19 A.D.D. have a new album called Gaia on the way and they’ve released a preview in the form of “Ataxia.” Check it out below and listen to clips of Gaia on Soundcloud:
- Vit [featured September 2010 (via me), and May 2011 (via Grim Kim)]: One of the things I loved about Vit’s last record was the dry yet crystal clear production and mixing; here was a band that played glacial-paced, black metal-inflected doom but didn’t conform to the lo-fi standard others in the genre typically bow to. So I’m thinking and hoping that the two lo-fi preview tracks of their new album The Dry Season are in fact just demos of what’s to come, not full-on song samples of the new record. The more I think about it the more I think this is probably the case, so I’m still pretty amped to hear this record when it’s done.
- Old Wounds [featured September 2011]: Who said too much time needs to pass before re-featuring bands here? September wasn’t that long ago so I’ll let the brand new video from New Jersey “Nasty, vitriolic post-hardcore” band Old Wounds speak for itself. Short and sweet:
