NE OBLIVISCARIS WORK OUT THEIR VISA PROBLEMS AND A NEW SONG

Nearly a year ago Ne Obliviscaris guitarist Benjamin Baret, a Frenchman living with his bandmates in Australia, was denied a visa to stay in Australia to work on completing his band’s new album. We never received word as to how that situation was resolved, but we’re guessing it was some way or another: Ne Obliviscaris posted a new song on their Facebook page over the weekend! And our inboxes exploded with a unanimous ne Obliviscaris lovefest.

Ne Obliviscaris have a really cool sound; they’re kind of like a black metal-tinged Opeth, but faster and heavier… and with violin. Their detailed, deliberate and classically-informed approach to songwriting certainly reminds me of Opeth, while the actual music, the notes being played, reminds me of… Ne Obliviscaris. They’re unique.
