NEILSTEIN SOUNDSCAM: TRIVIUM ARE RIDING THE WAVES
Last week wasn’t as big for new releases as this week is going to be, but we did see respectable debuts from Trivium, Adrenaline Mob and Fleshgod Apocalypse. Let’s see how those albums — and more — sold last week, after the jump.
1 TRIVIUM – IN WAVES
Last week: 20,635 (debut)
I *think* this is the band’s biggest first week in the U.S., but I’m not sure. Can someone verify? Either way, very solid number, and one of the biggest metal debuts in 2011.
11 GREELEY ESTATES – DEATH OF GREELEY ESTATES
Last week: 3,488 (debut)
Genericbreakdowncore sells records.
25 ALL SHALL PERISH – THIS IS WHERE IT ENDS
Last week: 2,407
Cume: 13,813
17% drop in Week 3 on the charts. If 60-70% is the average drop for Week 2 these days, what’s the average drop for Week 3? Will keep an eye on other releases in the coming weeks.
49 ADRENALINE MOB – ADRENALING MOB – EP
Last week: 1,754 (debut)
This was digital only, right? Not bad, I guess… but pretty much everything is going to be a disappointment to Mike Portnoy compared to Dream Theater.
65 FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE – AGONY
Last week: 1,432 (debut)
NICE, I’m actually listening to this album right now. 1,400 units isn’t a huge number, but I honestly didn’t even know the band was that popular.
82 RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE – RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
Last week: 1,302
Cume: 3,592,890
A nice bump (32%) presumably from their giant L.A. headline show and the ensuing publicity. Cool to see their name up on the charts again to get a look at that cumulative total. It’s actually less than I’d thought it would be.
90 EYES SET TO KILL – WHITE LOTUS
Last week: 1,214 (debut)
Sergeant D just popped a boner.
