BEST THRASH TOUR OF THE YEAR GETS SOMEWHAT LESS COOL
Hey, so remember when just last week Chuck Billy said there was gonna be a tour this fall with Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, and Death Angel?
Well, yeah, turns out Overkill ain’t doing that tour.
From Metal Insider:
“In a new posting on their official website, Overkill confirmed that they will NOT be touring with Anthrax, Testament, and Death Angel this coming Fall. Instead, the band is opting to enter the studio to record their follow up to 2010’s Ironbound.”
So that’s kind of a bummer. Testament and Death Angel are still great live, so that’s really reason enough to go see this tour. I have not seen Anthrax live since Joey Belladonna re-re-joined the band (and by now I believe I’ve made my overall feelings on the whole Belladonna versus Bush issue sufficiently clear), and the videos I’ve seen on YouTube suggest his voice is not in tip-top form, but having now heard Worship Music, I can tell you it’s actually pretty good, so ‘Thrax might be enticing, too. My point being, it’s not like this tour blows now, but, yeah, it was cool to have Overkill on there.
There’s no word yet on whether or not a replacement band will hop on the bill, but, uh… anyone know what Exodus is up to later this year?
